Do you provide a certificate for a child’s first haircut?
Yes. Every first haircut comes with a certificate, a photo taken of the new haircut, and a lock of hair in a little keepsake bag. We want to help you capture this important milestone!
Do you provide entertainment during a child's haircut?
We provide a variety of entertainment options to keep your child engaged during their haircut. Our salon features multiple TVs playing children's shows and movies, as well as toys and bubbles to capture their interest. We even offer toys for purchase that can be used during the haircut. Your child is also welcome to bring their own toys for added comfort and familiarity.
At what age do I bring my child in for their first haircut?
There’s no specific age recommended for a first haircut. It can be anywhere between 2 months and 2 years. Some babies are born with lots of hair and may be ready sooner than others, while some parents choose to wait longer.
Do you accept walk-ins or require booked appointments?
Booking an appointment in advance is preferred, but we also accept walk-ins based on availability. Weekends tend to be our busiest times, so you're more likely to secure a walk-in appointment on weekdays. For party hair (such as up-dos) we highly recommend calling in advance to secure the date and time, as these styles require more time than the average haircut.
How do I book an appointment?
You can make an appointment by calling in at (905) 264-6640 and speaking to one of our experienced hairstylists.
Can siblings be booked for appointments together?
We try our best to book all siblings together, depending on availability. Weekdays offer more flexibility for scheduling siblings together. Weekends are our busiest times, so same-day requests may not allow for simultaneous appointments. To ensure siblings are booked together on weekends, we recommend calling ahead a few days in advance.
When is the last appointment available to book for the day?
The final appointment available for booking is 30 minutes before the salon's closing time. For further assistance, please refer to our salon hours listed below and feel free to call us at (905) 264-6640 to secure your appointment.
Salon Hours:
Monday - Friday: 10:00am - 5:30pm
Saturday: 9:30am - 5:00pm
Sunday: 10:00am - 4:00pm
If I arrive late, will my appointment still be honored?
You must arrive to your child’s appointment 5 minutes before the scheduled time. A grace period of 15 minutes is permitted for unforeseen delays. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, you’ll be given the option of being seen that day as a walk-in or rescheduled for later that day.
What should I do if I can't make it to my appointment?
Please call in right away and notify us so that we can reschedule for another time.
Why is my phone number required for booking?
Your phone number is associated with your child’s account, which helps us to remember when their last haircut was and which of the hairstylists cut it for them. It also allows us to reach you if you’re running late.
How frequently do you sanitize the salon?
Cleaning and disinfecting have always been apart of our routine. After every haircutting appointment, we strictly follow a mandatory cleaning protocol. This includes diligently sanitizing haircutting stations, wiping down surfaces, and sterilizing all haircutting accessories. We provide each child with a fresh towel and apron cape for their appointment. Every night at closing, our salon undergoes a thorough top-to-bottom cleaning. To further assure our clients of our commitment to safety, our salon undergoes regular inspections to ensure compliance with hygiene standards. You can trust that your kids will get great haircuts in a clean and safe environment.
Are your hairstylists experienced?
Yes. Our team of hairstylists are experienced and seniors in their profession. They’ve been trained to work with children and know all the tricks to get the job done.
Do you accommodate children with special needs?
Yes, of course we do. We work with dozens of children every day, all day long and our hairstylists are experienced with cutting hair for children on the spectrum. We tend to keep our child clients for years because they form a bond with us, and they become very comfortable coming in for their haircut.
Is there an age limit for Little Cub Cuts?
We provide haircuts to babies and children. We do not provide haircuts to anyone older.
How can I donate my child’s hair?
Although we do not provide direct donation to charities, we can help cut your child’s hair in preparation for donation. Hair donation must be a minimum length of 12 inches, clean and dry and cannot be color treated or permed.
